Monica invite Missy Elliott sur « Code Red »

Alors qu’elle a dévoilé hier la pochette et la tracklist de Code Red, Monica propose aujourd’hui le titre éponyme sur lequel elle invite Missy Elliott et sa fille de 2 ans Laiyah.

Sur une production de Polow Da Pon, Monica aborde la situation critique dans laquelle se trouve l’industrie musicale, due au manque d’originalité et de créativité de certains artistes.

Alors que Missy rappe “Y’all all sound the same, let me hear something new / We tired of that junk that you sing in the booth / You know we the truth, let me give you this proof / Call 9-1-1- better ring the alarm / When this come on, they be dropping them bombs / We tired of hearing them same five songs / Man, I be wantin’ to turn that issh off”, Monica, elle chante “I’m trying to change up the world / I’m focused on my baby girl / And even though she only one, she know you ain’t talkin’ about nothing”.
